India’s resolutions

WHAT

India piloted resolutions on two important global environment issues relating to Single-use Plastics and Sustainable Nitrogen management.

  • The resolution took at the fourth session of United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA).
  • The session was held in Nairobi from 11th to 15th March 2019.

FACTS

  • The worldwide nitrogen use proficiency is low, resulting in pollution by reactive nitrogen which compromises human well-being, eco system, contributes to environmental change and stratospheric ozone depletion.
  • Plastic damaging the environment and aquatic bio-diversity.
