Indian Coast Guard Vessel C-441

WHAT

A new Coast Guard vessel ICGS C-441 is commissioned into service.

  • ICGS C-441 is seventh Interceptor vessel amongst the series.

 

FEATURES

  • The vessel is fitted with state-of-the-art communication, navigational equipment and with light, medium and heavy automatic machine gun.
  • The vessel is also provided with infra-red-survelliance and capable of operating in deep seas and shallow waters.

 

ADVANTAGES

Indian Coast Guard Ship C-441 is capable to undertake multifarious tasks such as:

  • Close coast surveillance.
  • Interdiction.
  • Search and rescue.
  • Rendering assistance to boats and crafts in distress at sea.
  • Will enhance the search and rescue capacity of Kerala seas.

Integrated farming

WHAT

The Vice President of India, has stressed the need to promote integrated farming practices to improve the productivity of livestock and double farmers’ income.

  • He urged the government, agriculture scientists and Krishi Vigyana Kendras to encourage farmers to diversify into allied services for financial stability.
  • Animal husbandry was vital for ensuring a more inclusive and sustainable agriculture system.
  • Farming households with livestock would be able to better withstand distress caused due to extreme weather conditions and crop failures.

 

NSSO STATISTICS

  • Agriculture industry contributes 17% of India’s total GDP, out of which, the 27% comes from Animal Husbandry.
  • Overall, the dairy, poultry and aqua industries contribute 4.4% to the nation’s GDP.
  • Apart from them, poultry, fisheries, Sericulture, and other services have great potential to contribute towards employment and economic growth.
