Registration of political parties under Section 29A of the RPA, 1951

WHAT

Registration of Political parties is governed by the provisions of Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

  • A party seeking registration under the Section with the Commission has to submit an application to the Commission within a period of 30 days.
  • Election Commission of India in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 324 of the Commission of India and Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

RPA, 1951

  • The Representation of People Act, 1951 is an act of Parliament of India.
  • It is provided for the conduct of election of the Houses of Parliament and to the House or Houses of the Legislature of each State.
  • It was introduced in Parliament by law minister Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
  • The Act was enacted by the provisional parliament under Article 327 of Indian Constitution, before the first general election.

  • Positive growth of 8.73 per cent over the same period last year.

IMPORT

Overall import (April-Feburary 2018-19) are estimated to be USD 577.31 Billion.

  • Positive growth of 9.42 per cent over the same period last year.

FOREIGN POLICY

  • Foreign policy refers to the general guidelines that a country follows in establishing and conducting relations between the two nations.
  • It brings in predictability in foreign relations and builds trust between two nations.

FOREIGN TRADE

  • Foreign trade in India comprises of all imports and exports to and from India.
  • The domestic production reveals on exports and imports of the country.

The Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution celebrated the World Consumer Rights Day.

  • Celebrated on 15th March.

THEME 2019 : “Trusted Smart Products”

BACKGROUND

  • World Consumer Rights Day was inspired by President John F Kennedy.He was the first world leader to do so.
  • It is celebrated as a means of raising global awareness about consumer rights and needs.
  • Celebrating the day to demand rights of all consumers are respected and protected.
  • It protest against market abuses and social injustices.
