NITI Aayog organises FinTech Conclave 2019

WHAT

  • NITI Aayog organized a day-long FinTech Conclave 2019 on financial technologies.
  • Over 300 stakeholders from across the Government, Banking and Startup investors chart future of financial technologies.
  • The Indian fintech ecosystem is the third largest in the globe, attracting nearly $6 billion in investments since 2014.

 

OBJECTIVE

  • To shape India’s continued ascendancy in fintech.
  • To build the narrative for future strategy and policy efforts.
  • To deliberate steps for comprehensive financial inclusion.

Young Scientist Programme (Yuvika)

WHAT

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched a special programme for School Children called “Young Scientist Programme” “YUva VIgyani KAryakram” (युिवका) from this year.

 

AIM

  • The Program is primarily aimed at imparting basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to the younger ones.
  • The program is also aimed at creating awareness amongst the youngsters who are the future building blocks of our Nation.

 

FEATURE

The residential training programme will be of around two weeks duration during summer holidays and it is proposed to select 3 students each from each State/ Union Territory to participate in this programme covering state, CBSE, and ICSE syllabus.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Those who have just finished 9th standard (in the academic year 2018-19) and waiting to join 10th standard (or those who have started 10th Std just now) will be eligible for the programme.
  • The selection is based on the academic performance and extracurricular activities. Students belonging to the rural area have been given special weightage in the selection criteria.

Admiral Sunil Lanba commissions Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Training Facility (ABHEDYA)

WHAT

Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM AVSM ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff commissioned a state of the art “Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Training Facility – ABHEDYA”, at  INS Shivaji, Lonavla.

The training facility has been built by Goa Shipyard Limited to help the Indian Navy train personnel in BBC damage control.
