Background
- Before 1962, the state was known as North East Frontier Agency & was part of Assam.
- In 1972, Arunachal Pradesh was constituted as Union Territory.
- In 1987, It became the 24th State of Indian Union.

- Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for Indian citizen to enter Arunachal Pradesh.
- Anjaw is the eastern most district of India.
- Namchik – Namphuk in Tirap district has coal.
- In 2006 Bumla pass in Tawang was opened to traders.
- Patkai Bum hills act as a natural barrier between Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar.
- Upper Himalayas close to Tibetan border enjoy alpine or tundra climate.
