Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme

WHAT
The Department of Commerce provides financial assistance for:
(i) Setting up export infrastructure including International Trade Promotion Centres.
(ii) Three trade promotion centres under the ‘Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme (TIES).
- The three centres are located in Manipur, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
TRADE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR EXPORT SCHEME
The scheme was launched by Commerce and Industry Minister in 2017.
The scheme is focused on:
(i) Addressing the needs of the exporters.
(ii) Create infrastructure
(iii) Provide assistance for setting up and up-gradation of infrastructure projects.
(iv) Export linking like the Border Haats, Land customs stations, quality testing and certification labs, cold chains, trade promotion centres, dry ports, export warehousing and packaging, SEZs and ports/airports cargo terminuses.
OBJECTIVES OF TRADE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR EXPORT SCHEME
- The objective of the scheme is to enhance export competitiveness.
- It will bridge gaps in export infrastructure
- It creates focused export infrastructure
- First mile and last mile connectivity for export-oriented projects
- Addressing quality and certification measures
ELIGIBILITY
The Central and State Agencies, including Export Promotion Councils, Commodities Boards, SEZ Authorities and Apex Trade Bodies recognised under the EXIM policy of Government of India.
FUNDING
- The Central Government funding will be in the form of grant-in-aid.
- Grant-in-aid not more than 50% of the total equity in the project.
- The grant in aid shall be subject to a ceiling of Rs 20 Cr for each infrastructure project.
