Powers for emergency procurements

- Under the recent emergency financial powers, armed forces have been given a free hand to get equipment worth up to ₹300 crores on a priority basis.
- Entirely new systems not being used can also be procured under the new powers.
- For the procurement under the emergency orders, the forces need not take concurrence of the Integrated Financial Advisor from the defence finance department.
