Project ‘Bal Basera’

WHAT
Project ‘Bal Basera’ (Creche) for the welfare of Children of Construction Workers deployed at AIIMS Rishikesh.
- Bal Basera shall accommodate about 35 Children and shall be run by the Central Public Works Department Officer’s Wives Association (CPWD OWA).
CPWD Officer’s Wives Association
- It is a Socio-Cultural Organization, which is actively involved in the social welfare activities of weaker sections of society for the last 48 years.
- It was founded by Late Mrs. Rachel Muthachen in 1971.
- It is providing monetary help to the families of CPWD employees in distress, donating funds for organizations engaged in the humanitarian causes, managing a large number of Bal Baseras and organizing health camps at construction sites, running a Vocational Training Centre, a Day Care Centre and a Pre nursery School in New Delhi.
BACKGROUND
CPWD has signed an MoU with CPWD Officers’ Wives Association for organising health camps and managing crèches (Bal Basera) at construction sites in a formal and organised manner on large scale and on pan India basis so that workers and their children could lead a healthy and productive life.
