The UAE has set up an artificial intelligence university, claimed to be the first in the world, in Abu Dhabi.

Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) was inaugurated on 17 October 2019 and it offers courses for Msc and PhD-level, including Machine learning, Computer vision, Natural language processing etc.
MBZUAI is named after Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The country also appointed the world’s first Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Omar Al Olama.

Highlights

Supervision of Ph.D. students will happen in partnership with the Abu Dhabi-based Institute of Artificial Intelligence.
All admitted students will be offered a full scholarship and monthly benefits including health insurance, allowance and accommodation.
Internships will be provided in collaboration with local and global companies.

Aim

The institution aims to attract students from around the world to advance the technology and propel the UAE’s economic diversification efforts.
