The Indian Council of Robotics and Automation (AICRA) has announced the launch of a new initiative, the AICRA Tech Startup Program.

 

Introduction

As the name suggests, the program will provide an incubation environment for new and early-stage users of Robotics and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in India, with the goal of accelerating the development sector. Announced in the fifth edition of the contest-workshop, Technoxian 2019, the startup program aims to provide a global environment for business growth.

 

Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA)

  • It is a not-for-profit organization, the leading organization that sets standards for the robotics, automation and education sector, and assists more than 35,00+ member and professional organizations in solving problems and difficult techniques while improving their leadership and personal professional abilities.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

Robotic process automation (RPA) is the use of artificial intelligence (AI) software and machine learning capabilities to handle high volume repetitive tasks that were previously performed by humans. These tasks may include investigations, calculations, and maintenance of records and transactions.

 

RPA technology consists of software robots (bots) that can mimic a human worker. RPA robots can connect to applications, enter data, calculate and execute tasks, and then log off.

 

Currently, professionals divide RPA technologies into three broad categories: probots, knowbots, and chatbots.

  • Probots are bots that follows simple, repeatable rules for the processing of the data
  • Knowbots are bots that search the internet to gather and store user-specified information
  • Chatbots are virtual agents who can respond to customer queries in real-time

 

RPA software is not part of a company’s IT infrastructure. Instead, it relies on what enables a company to implement the technology quickly and efficiently, all without changing existing infrastructure and systems. What sets RPA apart from traditional IT automation is the ability of RPA software to be aware of, and adapt to, new circumstances, exceptions, and situations. Once the RPA software has been trained to capture and interpret the specific process actions of existing software applications, it can manipulate data, trigger responses, initiate new actions, and communicate with other systems autonomously.

 

The Evolution of RPA
