LIVESTOCK LOGISTICS CONTROL MOBILE APPLICATION

The Dakshina Kannada district administration will release a mobile app called Livestock Logistics Control.

The mobile application will facilitate legal cattle transportation.
The app helps those legally transporting cattle to get authenticity for their transaction.
Livestock transportation may be for any purpose, including dairying, farming, or slaughtering and covers all major cattle.
Using the app would be helpful for genuine transporters to exhibit the details whenever the vehicle was subjected for checking by authorities concerned.
People may call the district control room on 1077 to inform the authorities about illegal cattle transportation.

Significance

Stop illegal livestock transportation.
Curb on illegal cattle transporters.
The app will certainly help reduce social tensions.
The app will also help the legal transporters of all major livestock go about their business without fear of being targeted by anyone.

How it will work?

The app allows any cattle transporter post authentication of the mobile through OTP, upload image of the vehicle, its registration plate number and cattle transported, in it.
With self-certification inbuilt into Livestock Logistics Control, this information will be relayed to officials of the animal husbandry department.
The officials, in turn, can provide this to authorities concerned for verification.

Background

The app has been developed on a request from legitimate cattle traders who were facing issues from vigilantes.
